The goal is to assist up to 5,000 professionals who work as producers, technicians, operators from different departments such as camera, audio, makeup, costumes and scenography. Many of these work without a contract and earn a week. They can request the benefit equivalent to the minimum wage, R $ 1,045, through an online form on the ICAB page. The vice president of original productions for Latin America at Netflix, Francisco Ramos, thanked the support of ICAB, so that the company can give back to employees in this difficult period. “We are grateful to be working with ICAB to support those film and television production workers who have been hardest hit in Brazil,” said Ramos. “The Brazilian creative community has always welcomed Netflix, and now we want to do our part to help those who need support in this unprecedented moment that we live in.” ICAB’s executive director, Mauro Garcia, acknowledged the importance of the partnership with Netflix and hopes that other companies can do the same. “The Institute, which has in its DNA a concern for the well-being of professionals, could not fail to act when these people need it most, so we are very happy with this partnership with Netflix,” said Garcia. “We also want to call on other members of the audiovisual industry to contribute and increase resources that aim exclusively at supporting those who are a fundamental part of Brazilian audiovisual production”.
